APRIL. Q Russell for The Addison Suite W26

Chief Entertainment Officer | Author | Creator & IP Owner | ARTrepreneur

April Q. Russell is a Chief Entertainment Officer, author, and creator-owned IP entrepreneur operating at the intersection of entertainment, media, brand strategy, and cultural storytelling. With more than two decades of experience across film acquisitions, distribution, production, and creative business development, she builds entertainment properties designed to move beyond individual projects into enduring, commercially scalable franchises.

Russell describes herself as an ARTrepreneur, an artist who approaches storytelling with the commercial endgame in mind. Her work connects creative vision with business architecture, bringing together intellectual property, production, strategic partnerships, distribution, audience development, and licensing. She believes stories are not simply entertainment, but cultural and economic assets capable of shaping identity, influencing audiences, and generating value across industries.

She is the founder and creator of BLAHOM™, a cinematic fantasy franchise originating with her debut novel, BLAHOM: A Warrior Goddess (2023). The franchise is expanding in deliberate sequence across publishing, screen, animation, comics, music, digital storytelling, and immersive experiences.

The underlying intellectual property and worldwide rights are held through CARU Pictures LLC.

Before the publication of BLAHOM, Russell created Black Hollywood Marilyn™, a performance character she describes as “a mirror, muse, and myth in the making.” The character became part of the broader BLAHOM entertainment universe, extending into music and performance through the concept single BIG OL’ DADDY.

Russell’s executive background includes building a North American film distribution pipeline through CARU Pictures, acquiring and distributing feature-film rights across theatrical and home-entertainment markets. Her experience includes releases spanning more than 1,200 AMC Theatre locations and commercial relationships involving Sony, Warner, and Redbox.

She is also the founder of REVHO, a creative and brand engagement company with a 7.5-acre, cinema-grade production compound in Georgia. The property brings production infrastructure, hospitality, and creative development into one operational environment, supporting filmmakers, artists, brands, and original IP development.

Her journey into media began at age eight as a Kid Reporter for an ABC News affiliate. She later studied communications, film, and television at the University of Tennessee and trained at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.

Today, Russell is focused on building creator-owned entertainment enterprises where storytelling, audience, commerce, and ownership operate as one interconnected business system. Her work reflects a central conviction: creativity is not merely a cultural contribution. It is capital. and when properly structured, it becomes an asset that compounds.
